CASABLANCA – VON DEN GUTEN ZEITEN IN DEN SCHLECHTEN ZEITEN – Documentary – by Daniel Ritter, Peter Janecek

austria austria austria
Documentary about the people who lived in Casablanca during World War II on the run from the Nazis. 60 years later Sophie Freud, Kurt Grossmann, Fritz König and Flor Scemama meet again in Hinterbrühl / Austria to talk about the old times and share couscous like then in Casablanca.
The true story of the refugees in Casablanca – not as different from the classic Casablanca movie with Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman as you might think – gets alive on the screen in the narrations of the people who lived there and old photographs, and you will learn about good times in those bad times and some great lifelong friendships between the refugees and the people who helped them and gave them a home. Truly human and rewarding.
