TOY STORY 3 by Lee Unkrich
Andy is preparing to move to college and decides to take Woody with him while the other toys shall be stored in the attic. By mistake the bag with the toys goes into the garbage bin. The toys can escape the garbage truck but are disappointed because they think Andy wanted to dispose of them. They are shipped to Sunnyside Daycare where teddy bear Lotso gives them a warm welcome and shows them around. But soon the toys – who won’t believe Woody that they were thrown out by mistake – learn the truth about Sunnyside. The seemingly jovial Lotso operates the Daycare center like a Gulag, and the new toys are lowest in the pecking order. Time to plan The Great Escape.
Pixar and Toy Story – almost a guarantee for quality, and Toy Story 3 is no exception. Toy Story 3 is darker and more serious than it’s predecessors, and some of the novelty is gone, making it less fun than Toy Story 1 or Toy Story 2. And 3D doesn’t really add anything to the story. Still recommended if slightly flawed.
